Hot Springs Bathhouses
Hot Springs, AR
In December 2005 Au' Authum Ki, Inc. (AAK) was awarded the contract to renovate and restore the Lamar and Hale Bathhouses in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Bathhouse Row was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in November of 1974. The National Parks Service was charged by congress to "preserve and protect" the resources in this park. The goals of this project are to preserve this National Historic Landmark, and to modernize the bathhouses enough for tenant lease once the restorations and renovations are complete.
To achieve the goals of this project, AAK is installing modern upgrades such as elevators, fire sprinklers, accessible public toilet facilities and HVAC systems. The restoration, to maintain the historic integrity of these bathhouses, includes stabilization, repair and refinish existing doors, millwork, repair ceramic tile and marble, refinish existing terrazzo floors, hardware and railings
As a result of AAK's experience and reputation on Hale and Lemar Bathhouses, AAK in a joint venture with De Los Santos Construction was selected in June 2006 to renovate and restore a third bathhouse, Superior. |
